COURSE DESCRIPTION & MAPS

Time Trial

Friday, June 23 - Hastings Lake Community Association

The Ministik Lake course has rolling hills and lakes with beaver dams in a number of places along the course. The pavement is in good condition all along the course and is wide enough to be used in both directions with riders and support cars.

Staged out of Hastings Lake Community Association, the start and finish line will be established at the intersection of RRR204/205 and TWSP 510. There is a wide area which could play a very interesting part in the start, mid and end points of the race.

Road Race

Saturday, June 24 & Sunday, June 25 - Alberta Legislature Grounds

The bike course winds through Edmonton’s River Valley with some challenging uphill sections. The course sweeps through the greens paces of Edmonton along the North Saskatchewan River and up into the downtown core. The entire course is situated on closed roadways. Much of the course has been recently repaved and in excellent condition.

It is a lapped course with laps of approximately 10.7 km in length. The course loops back through the start/finish area on every lap. Athletes will climb steadily up out of the river valley and back down three times on every lap for approximately 110m of elevation gain per lap. The climbs average between 4-8% gradient and are 800m to 2km in length.

Criterium

Monday, June 26 - Whyte Ave

The Criterium will take place in Old Strathcona along Whyte Avenue. This area has ample parking, dining, and viewing options for the 1.3km loop course. Junior athletes will compete in the afternoon with Elite riders championing a twilight criterium. Feel the buzz of the crowd along the city’s busiest streets to cheer on the best.
