DO NORTH Triathlon
The Do North Triathlon is our beloved age-group sprint distance triathlon. Part of our program for years now, participants won’t be disappointed when they get to swim, bike, and run our majestic river valley. Starting with a Queen Elizabeth outdoor pool swim, followed by a bike and run on-road across Walterdale bridge and surrounding the river valley.

DO NORTH Team Triathlon
The Do North Team Tri is new to this year’s program and a great way for newbies, friends, family, or enthusiasts to race a quick and snappy super sprint triathlon relay as a team of three.

DO NORTH Cross Triathlon
The Do North Cross Triathlon is an exhilarating endurance race combining swimming, mountain biking, and trail running featuring diverse terrains along an exciting off-road course all within Edmonton’s epic river valley trails. This race will be designated a Triathlon Canada National Championship, but anyone and everyone can participate. To add to the excitement, three Age-Group World Championship qualification spots per age group and gender will be up for grabs for interested athletes to punch their ticket to the 2026 World Championships in Abu Dhabi.

DO NORTH Trail Do-athlon
The Do North Trail Do-athlon is a mountain bike and trail run duo along single track and multi-use trails stretching from Emily Murphy park to Nellie McClung park. Grab a pal and race as a team of two, or conquer this course on your own, either way you’ll be in for a good time.

ENDURO & TRAILBLAZERS
Enduro Race
Enduro is mountain biking’s equivalent of a car rally - each racer faces multiple descents and has to pedal themselves to the top of each. They have a set start time for each stage, and the shortest cumulative time on the stages wins!

Race routes will be released the day before the race through the EMBFest and Do North Events Social Media. There will be a guaranteed 4 timed sections.

Trailblazers
The Trailblazers Mountain Bike Race is a way to encourage youth of all skill levels ages 16 and under to try competitive mountain biking. Trailblazers will have the choice to race the event that matches their own specific comfort levels and abilities, including an older race category should they have the ability to do so. Please read the detailed descriptions of the race categories upon registering.

AGE CATEGORIES
Strider (U7): The “Strider” category encompasses the youngest first-time mountain bike racers. Only those with strider and push bikes will be allowed to race in this category. The Striders Race will have a primary focus on fun, offering very few technical sections. Striders will race on the grass around pylons set up in an open field.
Little Pedalers (U7): The “Little Pedaler” category is new this year, and also encompasses the youngest first-time mountain bike racers. This category was added specifically for kids who have graduated from a strider to a pedal bike, but not quite ready to race in the “Little Ripper” category. The Little Pedalers will have a primary focus on fun, offering no technical sections. Little Pedalers will race on both grass and a small section of dirt trail.
Little Rippers (U9) : The “Little Ripper” category also encompasses the youngest first-time mountain bike racers. The Little Rippers Race will have a primary focus on fun, offering very few technical sections.
Gnarly (U11 & U13): The “Gnarly” category is offered for beginners. Riders in this category will be first-time racers from all age groups and graduates from the “Little Rippers” race category. The emphasis of this racecourse will be fun, with mild technical sections to challenge the riders’ abilities and introduce them to mountain bike racing.
Geared (U15): The “Geared” category is offered for riders who have tried a Trailblazers mountain bike race in the past and are looking for a new challenge. The emphasis of this race will be fun, with increased technical skills development. Riders in the Geared category will primarily be graduates from the Gnarly category and older first-time racers.
Dialed (U17): The "Dialed" category is for older trailblazers. This category offers a mix of difficult climbs/descents and technical single-track sections.
